Fassbender, Wasikowska to headline new Jane Eyre adaptation
Well, if it ain’t one Bronte, its another. After dropping out of Wuthering Heights, it is now being reported by a number of sources that Michael is currently deep in negotiations to take on the role of Mr Rochester in a new film version of Charlotte Bronte’s celebrated work, Jane Eyre, scheduled to begin filming next year. Touted to play Jane is upcoming Australian actress Mia Wasikowska, who has impressed with small roles in Defiance and Amelia, and will shortly be seen in the title role of Tim Burton’s hotly anticipated adaptation of Alice in Wonderland.
The film will be directed by Cary Fukunaga (Sin nombre) from a script by Moira Buffin for Focus Features and BBC Films.
